Sloe Motion (Bec Todd)
Sloe Motion (Bec Todd, she/they) is a transdisciplinary digital artist working at the intersection of light, motion, and computational art. Based between Melbourne and Brisbane, their practice spans projection art, media installations, and experimental photography, investigating the liminal spaces between static and dynamic forms.
Through a methodical process of construction and deconstruction, Sloe's work applies programmatic rules and abstraction to reveal unexpected narratives within seemingly static subjects. Their practice is deeply rooted in exploring the entropy of image and movement, using custom image processing techniques to examine themes of vulnerability, impermanence, and the inherent disorder of our universe.
Collaborating with musicians, performers, and cultural institutions, Sloe Motion's ongoing research investigates the philosophical intersections of light, randomness, and consciousness within our expanding universe, manifesting in immersive installations that challenge traditional perspectives on digital art and human experience.
